Death Penalty Open Thread

This is an open thread for my 7:00 TTh class to post their responses to the two death penalty essays.

Please post one strong point and one weak point that each author makes in his essay. (Note: by “point,” I mean a piece of evidence that supports his thesis. You must describe why the point is strong or weak. Example: “This point was convincing because…” or “This didn’t really support his argument because…”) Then, in a couple of days, come back and respond to at least one of your classmates’ comments.

It’s come to my attention that the video for class today isn’t showing up on the site. Don’t worry about watching it – we’ll try to view it in class today.

Class Canceled

Hi all,

Due to a sinus infection, I won’t be able to make it to class this evening. Please turn in your papers and SLA verification sheets on Tuesday. The midterm will still be held during the first hour of class. Be prepared to read and respond to a short published work. I prefer that you do your work in a blue book (if you don’t know what a blue book is, ask for an 8.5×11 one at the campus bookstore), but since I didn’t get a chance to announce that to my 5 p.m. class, it’s not required.

Feel free to email me or leave a comment with any questions.
